Fracking water tanker wrecks historic Pennsylvania bridge

Fracking EPIC FAIL.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/fracking-water-tanker-wrecks-historic-pa-bridge-article-1.1959016

A 136-year-old truss bridge in Greene County was no match for a water tanker truck used by a natural gas driller, which partially collapsed the roadway on Sunday.

The driver of the 35-ton truck did not see the Pollacks Mill Bridge's four-ton limit. He was not quite halfway across when the structure's floor beams buckled and collapsed under the weight of the vehicle, WPXI reported....

Not only did the collapse force traffic to be diverted, but a gas line running under the bridge which services 4,500 nearby residents had to be shut off, official said. Up to 50 vehicles per day travel over the 1878 bridge, which had its beams replaced in 1990.

The water tanker was towed off the wrecked bridge on Monday, which runs over Ten Mile Creek about halfway between Pittsburgh and Morgantown, W.Va. Inspectors will determine whether the 160-foot long span can be salvaged, the Observer-Reporter said.

The Fracking job makers are hiring drivers who can't read?

I hope Pennsylvania gets their money out of these guys.

"The truck's driver, Jason Wayne Strawderman, 38, of Beverly, W.Va., said he dumped the contents of the truck into the creek to lighten the load. The tanker, if full, holds 4,200 gallons."

He dumped that fracking water into the creek.

And more to do with dumbasses who can't read.

Wonder if it would have been put on DU if it were a milk truck taking a shortcut between dairies...

So there's plenty of blame to go around. But it's also true that fracking tends to put extra wear-and-tear on local infrastructure. Even without this one idiot driver, it's likely to break stuff over time.
