I have friends who live near Huston, and I visit yearly, I have given serious thought to moving to the Corpus Christi area in 2/3 yrs. So I ask this, given how the state response to the Ebola diagnosis has been, will this affect Rick Perrys' second presidential run?

(3,891 posts)There was a problem with the clean up of the affected apartment. You see, the regulations for the Department of Transportation, and the CDC were conflicting. So it took time for the various affected bureaucracies to fight it out and issue waivers etc. http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/10/02/us-health-ebola-waste-idUSKCN0HR07T20141002
So blaming Perry for bureaucrats from several agencies both Federal and State is probably not a great tactic. Best case, we help Rand Paul demonstrate that there is too much Bureaucracy that has to be streamlined (read that as eliminated) to make taking care of emergencies more efficient.

(3,891 posts)Seriously? He was booked, mugshot taken, and indicted. Now the charges may go nowhere in the trial, but let's be honest, his Presidential aspirations went up in smoke when he was charged.

(47,953 posts)Very culturally isolated. Lots of pollution (big refineries) and the summers are brutal. There are nice marshes and Padre Island National Seashore is nice as well. I just found it to be like living at the end of the Earth, and couldn't wait to go.
