What has happened to Kim Jong-Un?
It's just really strange a country can be so cut off.
Kim Jong-Un's Sister Takes Control in North Korea
Source: The Diplomat
Kim Yo-jong, the younger sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, might be leading the hermit kingdom instead of her brother, a recent report from Seoul-based think tank, North Korea Intellectuals Solidarity (NKIS) revealed.
According to NKIS on October 1, Kim Jong-un who has failed to appear at official events since early September is getting medical treatment at Bonghwa Clinic from both domestic and foreign medical teams. Meanwhile, in his absence, Kim Yo-jong is charged with handling important government decisions.
An unnamed source told NKIS that a decision to give Kim Jong-un extended medical treatment was made at a meeting of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers Party of Korea on September 6. The meeting was reportedly held at Kim Yo-jongs suggestion.
As a result of the meeting, Pyongyang decided four things. First, to give special and extended medical treatment to Kim Jong-un in order to quickly restore his health. Second, all North Korean high level officials and party members should be responsible in following Kims previous orders. Third, the party and army should be on wartime-like alert while Kim Jong-un is out of commission. Lastly, all the important matters related to government administration should be reported to Kim Yo-jong, so that Kim Jong-un can concentrate on getting better.

There's a signpost up ahead, next stop - The twilight of insanity.
China is what's keeping NK propped up. If they lose NK, they lose a lot of sway.

(51,076 posts)Didn't she take control recently while dear leader is off somewhere in la la land. I'm think he's suffered some lead poisons or maybe a food borne poison. Broken ankles I don't think it is unless someone broke them for him. I'm sure he's not very well liked even by his blood kin. It would be doing humankind a real service if he is pushing up daisies somewhere or been fed to the hogs or hell even given a pair of cement shoes and fed to the sharks

(40,416 posts)NK is not going to end well, no matter what happens. But this regime, now on its third generation, is going to end. It isn't going to be pretty and the blowback may be considerable.
I imagine that the lights may be burning bright late tonight in the WH situation room.
No matter what, this is not good.

(19,564 posts)In other words, if there is a new leader don't expect anything to change for the better. You may see some new heads roll, literally, who were the opposition to the new leader, or supported the previous one, but beyond that expect a new chapter in the same book. Well, the Dennis Rodman character may be written out now, but other than a few minor things such as that it's a continuing story.

(33,688 posts)of the Kim family and install a military regime that will improve things enough to keep North Koreans willing to stay in North Korea. The Chinese want stability above all. They need it to conquer the US economically as the Amercan 1% ship everything overseas and steal the ruins that are left over. The Chinese then move in and finish enslaving the people of the one-time US and Wall $treet heads for Switzerland.
It is in their long-term best interest to be shed of the Kims at some near point.
