(1,596 posts)1. I think she got a raw deal.
But her resignation had to be.
I mean, how can you micro manage drunk egomaniacs looking for a lay? Or know what ditz is doing ditzy and dangerous things?
I hope she writes a book about what really goes on that we don't even know about.

There was far more to it than just those incidents, of course. And I think this is just another manifestation of Obama's presidency not being taken seriously by the media, congress, etc.
But, to your point of "micro managing," this is not micromanaging at all. It's the culture in the workforce that's bad, and changing that is certainly not unattainable. In companies that I've acquired where there was a serious culture problem, the first thing I did was inform all the employees that everyone would have to apply for their jobs again, thus putting them through my vetting process. In most cases, there wasn't any problem. But there were always some who either left on their own or didn't get "rehired" because they didn't make the cut. It's a real eye opener when you see how some people are in a job they shouldn't be.
Pierson could have done this too as she would also have been a "new broom" when she was brought on after the scandal you're referring to. While she may have been a good beat cop in Orlando and did well in successive posts, she was clearly not qualified for heading the Secret Service. The Peter Principle in action. It's as if her appointment was nothing but window dressing.

(1,596 posts)3. The matter of her being a woman in a man's world has a lot to do with it.
wheels up, rings off.
How disgusting. You think those guys had respect for women and especially women in power over them? Pay attention.

There are plenty of women excelling in the supposed "man's worlds". She ain't a victim.
