(130,865 posts)Software programmer says US elections are rigged and that US Representatives tried to pay him to rig their election vote counts. Thankyou to TheTruthPusher

(13,685 posts)Everyone who cares already knew this; it came out 10 years ago.
Everyone knows computers can be made to steal elections. Why do you think so many elected officials are crooks?
They blatantly stole the 2000 presidential election; who in the heck thinks they stopped stealing elections after that? After 2000 the crooks bought new voting machines for the whole country and handed the contracts and the software programming to private companies.
Everyone knew this and we all (except a few) are fine with it. Makes vote counting so much easier when you just let a soulless computer do all that hard work.

(13,685 posts)Most people just think it couldn't happen here. I think they are in the first stages of alzheimers. US of Alzheimer.
Thank gawd anonymous hasn't forgotten. But it does make me sick to think a bunch of hackers are our last and only hope.

Our elections are manipulated through the machines. As you know we first found out with lil boots selection....you aren't alone. Like you I'm glad anonymous exits and takes action. Our situation is becoming hopeless.

(2,104 posts)Florida, when he gave them their paper ballot back. We can only ensure the results are true and not hacked, with a higher audit of the paper ballots, against the 'electronic totals' the state of Florida still certifies under the law. Crist gave them a 1-2% audit, allowing county supervisor's of elections to choose. Even the 2% still only verifies approximately 46-47% of the vote. It's a dog and pony show audit. AND, it's a POST certification audit, AFTER they announce a winner and the confetti falls, a week later to they do an audit. The audit is inadequate. The hero in this video went to DC and we all worked to push Rush Holt's federal bill HR 811 for a mandatory 3% audit for all states using electronics. This verifies approximately 70% of the vote, and does not cause a mandate for more staff. Federal mandates are hard to pass, if it cost the local governments money. A 3% will not do this, and verify more than half of the vote count, to be true.
Crist ALSO narrowed the provision for the Florida recount from 1% the state had for 100 years, to 1/2%...thus ensuring most will pay for their own recounts.
There is NO WILL at the state level to increase the audit. The law also states, while the state will certify the electronic totals, the ballots will be stored for recount purposes only. So the totals are no different than the touch screens the state had, when they had no paper trail. Now they have it, but they don't audit enough, to know if the electronic total is real.
County by county, will have to include in their charter, to raise the audit of their elections. Sarasota did this, via petition to get it on the ballot! It passed! And, you know what? They went for a 5% audit!
Then in 2010 a few state legs in that area tried to fight it after the election....and did not want them to really check it, and abide by the new charter amendment. It went all the way to the FLA Supreme Court. The indy SOE from Leon County that has helped them forever on this issue, testified for the county of Sarasota, explaining it all. The judge looked at the charter, said it was passed by the citizens of that county, and it stands. They had to count more ballots against electronics. Now, Sarasota usually swings republican. But they did it. They know their totals are weighted by their audit to more than half and the winner to be true. Now, we must get the democratic counties to do just this. With all of the hacking, why is this so hard to believe, and why would we not protect our vote? Again, thanks Charlie Crist for giving them their paper ballot back, and thanks for gutting all of the laws surrounding it.
Soooooo.... I sure hope you don't get bit in your own ass by your own paper ballot law.
When Florida got their paper ballot back, they got nothing!
So here's to the man in this video, Clint Curtis, a real fucking hero!

(13,685 posts)One step forward, two steps back, went Florida. NC, too.
The one thing that did happen was it made the voting machine owners nervous for a bit. They had to settle to let Obama win the state, but they made sure the legislature stayed on their side, and it did.
There is no good audit that I know of anywhere, except Sarasota. Even then an audit can be gamed, so there is that. Gaming a hundred audits would be impossible, tho. The one time my local did an audit they found a 4% discrepancy. You know what the people around here said? "Well, I'll be." And went back to their alzheimers.

(4,234 posts)MURDER, SPIES, AND VOTING LIES, available at the BradBlog site, bradblog.com. It's mainly the Clint Curtis story, the guy who was asked by Tim Feeney to make a program to rig a political race for him.
It covers a lot of the underbelly of FL politics at the time and suggested to me when I saw it that much of China's rapid growth in space exploration technology came from spying on NASA because of the ignorance and incompetence of the Repubs in FL during the W admin. Of course, there are probably many other cases of such overt and shameless spying. The W admin didn't give a damn about anything but Iraq and cutting the tax rate on the rich. There's also a nice bit about a guy, perhaps a whistleblower, who died in a motel room after indicating that he had found some fx about the Repubs in FL.
Really a fine documentary, doesn't cost much, and Brad Friedman needs the money
