Poll: Alison Grimes leads Senate Minority Leader McConnell

LOUISVILLE, Ky., Oct. 6 (UPI) -- Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell has slipped with Kentucky voters, a poll released Monday said, showing him trailing Alison Lundergan Grimes by 2 points.
Almost half, 48 percent, of those surveyed for the Bluegrass Poll said they disapprove of McConnell's job performance. Only 35 percent took a positive view.

McConnell, a Republican first elected to the Senate in 1984, is seeking a sixth term. Grimes, a native of Kentucky, is a lawyer and daughter of a former state representative and Democratic Party official.

An Aug. 28 poll showed McConnell leading by 4 percentage points among likely voters. The new one showed him trailing Grimes 44 to 46 percent. While Grimes' lead is within the poll's margin of error, the 6-point swing suggests McConnell could be in trouble.

If this trend continues, and I think it might, by the time the election results are counted McConnell will lose by 12% -- Grimes will wind up with 56% of the votes, while McConnell will only get 44% of the votes.

In the end, I think the race will be much closer than that, though, with Grimes only getting 52% of the vote with 48% of the vote going to TurtleMan.

It's still too early to tell if the trends against TurtleMan are going to hold up, however.

He's the #1 target for the Democratic Senate Committee that is tasked with getting Democrats elected to office in the Senate.

Her ads were matching and even doubling on Mitch up until about a couple days ago. Now they are falling off and I'm getting fidgety about it. Her ads need to keep up the pace they were on to reach this poll level. Especially during this last month! I hope she triples them!
