Toshiba Corporation announced Tuesday it had built a lifelike communication android that will be showcased at CEATEC JAPAN 2014 from October 7 to 11.

The communication android can move its arms and hands effortlessly and perform Japanese sign language for visitors.

The android prototype is the company's effort to develop a service robot that can assist people in the fields of welfare and healthcare.

The android is a "woman" named Aiko Chihira. She's friendly; has blinking eyes and wears a warm smile...MORE

The GOP are arguing with solutions straight out of the 19th century. Do you think they have a plan for the 21st? Look at the lethargic response the GOP has had to NSA. We are trying 19th century checks and balances in a world where information moves at a pace simple not imagined even 40-50 years ago. Do you think they can handle a future with a robotic workforce that will require massive societal infrastructure to prevent rampant poverty for the masses? I know I don't.
