This headline:
That's from the supposed 'liberal' Washington Post.
The conclusion:

Right. Because when you want to make a point about listening to what these three have to say, the logical choice is to quote Bobby Fucking Jindal.
Basically, the conclusion is that we should listen to the more hawkish members of Obama's old foreign policy team over the President because ...?
Meh.
I'll say this: Obama royally fucked up when he brought in Clinton and Bush holdovers. He should've started fresh and now, unfortunately for him, the chickens are coming home to roost. It still doesn't make it right, though.

(18,672 posts)but his last statements about Obama are slimey. I'm pretty sure at this point that Pres. Obama has a different perspective than when he came into office. Do not reach out to rabid dogs.

He's now the old product, however, and they'd like to sell the new one.

(2,178 posts)What's the point in having a Cabinet, if they are constantly harping the Old Guard Party line.
How hard can he push without risking being Assassinated?

Yep, and when some of us pointed this out at the beginning of his first term, we were called right-wing sock puppets or worse, racists.

(46,416 posts)But the foreign policy/military/intelligence establishment love these people, no matter how fucking wrong they are about everything. No, Hillary and Leon, it wasn't a good idea to wipe out Libya's leader. No, Hillary and Leon, it wasn't a good idea to arm rebels that shift allegiances like changing underwear, and yet you probably did it covertly anyway (Benghazi), and I hope that comes to light and bites you both in the ass (BTW, did everyone know that Leon Panetta was ultimately the guy who signed off on Chris Stevens not receiving increased security? Yep.). No, Bobby Gates, it wasn't a good idea to "surge" in Afghanistan because that produced very little gain, but did allow the Generals and contractors to build warehouse-sized HQ buildings for billions of dollars that we'll never use. No, Leon, waterboarding isn't acceptable, you Cheney-stinking asshole. Lesson: Clintons and Bushies need to be forever kept from the levers of power.

(46,416 posts)accomplish with their criticisms during the election season? Also: if I'm not mistaken, the Insiders is by Ed Rogers, who is a Republican political operative. But WaPo is socially liberal, foreign policy neoconservative. Look at the insane Jennifer Rubin for proof.

(34,845 posts)Trying to differentiate themselves instead of actually offering positive accomplishments. For pundit jobs or the Presidency, it's all the same to them. I'd say it's a strategy doomed to fail but I don't see anyone on the horizon that can challenge Clinton.
The shame of it all is that it's unnecessary.

(46,416 posts)They will knife Obama a thousand times over before 2016, and then afterward. They didn't want Gore to win. They didn't want Kerry to win. They wanted Hillary to win, and since she didn't, they want Obama to be seen as a failure.
