MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) A prosecutor is calling for Adrian Petersons arrest, after Peterson admitted to smoking marijuana before his court hearing in Montgomery County, Texas on Wednesday.
According to court documents, the star RB of the Minnesota Vikings was asked to submit a urinalysis at his Oct. 8 court appearance. During the process, he admitted that he smoked a little weed, according to the court records.
The district attorney is calling for Petersons arrest, saying the fact he smoked marijuana violates his bond conditions.
The DA has asked the judge to set aside Petersons $15,000 bond for the charge of injury to a child.
The judge assigned to Petersons case is currently in a hearing and has not yet discussed this request.

This guy is obviously a dimwit. More money for his attorney. At least Peterson has the money to pay him.

(14,177 posts)I saw his lawyer talking for a bit. His bond should be revoked for the comments he made in Adrian Peterson's behalf. "Adrian Peterson is the same man he was before this incident came to light." I paraphrase. If he is the same person he was before and after he beat his son which could have easily turned fatal, then he should be in jail for at least as long as it takes for him not to be the same man he was before he beat his son.

The lawyer was setting up for an aquittal. Before the weed thing came out I was thinking he would be aquitted.

(14,177 posts)his lawyer says he is the same person he has always been. Evidence points to this being true. So, it's unreasonable to expect him to change his behavior. The best we can hope for is that he at least covers his tracks better.
Yeah, I am not serious. I am just very miffed he is being very arrogant and smirky about his criminal acts on his son. He should be in jail for a long time IMO.

That's how it goes. Apparently that Texas DA wasn't impressed, somehow. Maybe he's not an American football fan or something.

(7,772 posts)the last thing I would do is get baked before going to court. All the makings of a bad trip . . . and what a waste of a perfectly good high.

(7,720 posts)He didn't say he smoked weed just before court. He admitted to the person administering the drug test (the guy watching him pee in the bottle) That he smoked a little weed at some recent, prior occasion.
