This Is What Happens When A Woman Tries To Report Sexual Harassment To Egyptian AuthoritiesFreelance journalist Kimberly Adams was on an Egypt Air flight from Nairobi to Cairo when she was harassed by a fellow passenger. When she tried to report the incident, she was repeatedly discouraged.

(51,550 posts)If Egyptian authorities did not discourage reporting there would be way more reporting. If the authorities vigorously prosecuted harassers and rapists instead of advocating on their behalf ("Can't you forgive him?" , it would greatly reduce this crime.
I am glad this woman stood firm and insisted on reporting it. It took courage, particularly since they made her sit just feet from her harasser when they pulled both of them off the plane and asked her to state her address right in front of him (!). Disgusting.
