Fundamentalist Christians Believe That Wives Should Give Up Their Votes To Husbands.

The most fundamentalists of evangelicals believe that the husband makes all the decisions for the family and that wives serve only in an advisory role. Such belief might be why these Christians are apposed to equal pay and equal rights because women should not be primary wage earners in the family. There is so much code about where women belong being spoken that it should be exposed for what it is.

A woman even asking for equal rights is pretty much labeled as feminist. And the word feminist has been given a bad connotation through the years. Even the media plays into these falsehoods.

The war on women is much more pervasive than is obvious.

They just count on wearing everyone else down to pull us back into their era of patriarchal "order".

It doesn't guarantee the ballot will be cast in secret, which would be a problem in scenarios like these.

The scenario of someone else voting on an elderly or disabled person's ballot is possible. But for the many people who are not given time off from their job or can't afford to take it, mail in voting is absolutely necessary. In the case of dominant husbands, they just tell their wives what to do in the voting booth as well. A paper trail is far superior to voting machines.

I don't know. I suppose I'm a sentimentalist, but I always loved walking with my wife to the voting booth. We'd run into our neighbours and talk about issues and meet for coffee (tea in my case) afterwards.

I feel something's been lost since we went to all mail ballots here in Washington.

I did. They claimed to be raging liberals and then pressured you not to come late from voting which was impossible because we all commuted in heavy traffic and the lines are long. Sometimes my employees just skipped voting because they were so nasty. I'm completely sure many people, even though it is illegal, are faced with firing or loss of pay just for going to vote. I would have loved a mail in ballot. From what I understand, your mail in ballots have improved voter participation dramatically.

That's the abusive BS I remember hearing.
It is abuse.

How do I Know if I’m Being Abused?

When people are caught in the cycle of abuse, it may be difficult for that person to recognize or even admit that they are being abused. You could be experiencing family violence if your partner is:
hurting you physically
threatening to hurt you, your children, other family members or pets
forcing you to have sex or watch others have sex
constantly humiliating you, calling you names or insulting you
isolating you from your friends and family
monitoring your e-mails, phone calls and internet activity
denying your access to food clothing, medication or other basic needs
controlling your finances

...add here....denying you your right to vote....

If you are being abused, you should know:

You do not deserve to be abused. You have a right to live without fear. You are not to blame for the violence or the threats. You have the right to a safe, healthy environment and healthy relationship.Abuse often gets worse over time.

The littlest victims

Children who live in violent homes may grow up believing violence is part of a normal family relationship.

Add here: And are subject to believe women's rights don't matter.

So there's no explaining crazy. Citing what people claim to 'believe' is a waste of time. They believe in doing whatever they wish to do, then claiming that's their faith. Belief in religion is a devotion to a set of excuses and endless supply of notes from home excusing one from decent or even consistent behavior.

It's clearly not a widely held-opinion, and you don't link to any specific group advocating it (although I'm sure there are some).
