Rachel Maddow‘s book, Drift, tops the New York Times Best Sellers list

“When we gave Rachel a show on September 9, 2008, we had never, ever won at 9 o’clock,” MNSBC president Phil Griffin (pictured here with Maddow and NBC News president Steve Capus) said during his toast. “Larry King was an icon — never, in our 12-year history. Rachel goes in there, she beat Larry the first day, the first month, the first year, the second year, the third year. And now, this is her first book, and boom! Number one.”

That Eisenhower quote about how we should worry about a military industrial complex: she lays out exactly how we got into the predicament that we're in with military spending.

She also says that Macro Econ 101 explains to students that one must give up such things as military spending or deal with deficits. I believe that many business schools, unfortunately, aren't emphasizing this fact in their macro classes.

couldn't wait for her book to come out and pre-ordered it. Now if he'd only finish reading it so I can get my hands on it.
