My Mom in Kansas City was convinced she was going to get killed last night. It barely even rained in KC. I did my best to calm her fears.
I also worry about the cry wolf syndrome with these new early warnings.

(45,358 posts)3. Yea, I've lived in KC about 80% of my life..
and have yet to see a tornado on the ground. It's all about the odds, which are still pretty high even in tornado alley.
I have been very near a tornado on the ground (because I was chasing it), but I never saw it.

they are magnificant but very scary when you think of the destruction they leave.

PBS has a fresher tornado doc this week. if anybody gets things going on global warming, it will be the insurance companies.
