The NRA welcomes shocking gunplay. Their printing presses are timed with them.

the Brady Campaign doesn't have anywhere near the financial/political "firepower" of the NRA in this paranoid, gun-obsessed country.

But nice try.

to start a campaign to discourage killings of all kinds with guns.

I think they promote gun safety, but what do they do to confront the problems that their support for right-to-carry laws cause, problems like the Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin case?

I would like to know. A gun is a huge responsibility. What is the NRA doing to warn its members about the dangers of guns to themselves, their families, their neighbors and strangers like Trayvon Martin?

I'll have to spend some time looking stuff up on their site.

I've taken one NRA handgun safety courses and the instructor did stress responsibly and that mistakes mean unnecessary death and jail time.

18. Good. Might be a good idea to require the courses for those who have permits to carry their guns.

But still, if someone drinks too much . . . . ?

That's where a lot of domestic violence gets its push.

Hard to say which is worth, driving while drunk or carrying a gun while drunk.
