(14,400 posts)actually that's tomorrow, so I'll probably forget and wear and long sleeve shirt that doesn't roll up worth a shit just like I do every damned year...
We'll usually have everyone in the family immunized in October or at the latest in early November.

Voice for Peace
(13,141 posts)Last year I got the flu, which morphed into pneumonia.
This year I decided on the shot. Now I have a small
case of flu shot but it's not too bad.

(25,023 posts)I'm surprised I even tried again after the first shot, that was truly horrendous.
I'm extremely dubious of trying again. I did have one good run with it but got crappy sick again last year. It just seems my results are better just taking my chances, I get sick then sometimes as well but it is nowhere near as consistently as after I get the shot.

Is there any value in now getting it once I kick this shit? It totally sucks, BTW.

(9,766 posts)I was going to go last weekend, and then bam.
I don't recommend going without and getting what I have. It's pretty damned miserable.

(23,156 posts)shot is formulated for three different and specific flu viruses. The people in charge of this make an educated guess early in the year as to what will come around some months later, and they generally do a pretty good job of guessing.
