Weariness of Ferguson protests grows

Brian Fletcher loves Ferguson. He brags about it, he rattles off historical facts about it and, as the former mayor, he feels the urge to stick up for the city and its people.

And right now, he says people are tired of the constant protesting, tired of the noise and tired of feeling intimidated.

That’s the exact reaction many protest leaders said they are hoping for.

It’s been nearly 70 days since Ferguson police Officer Darren Wilson fatally shot Michael Brown, 18.

Is it just me, or is the St. Louis paper promoting divisiveness over these protests?

I guess they would be really fucking sick and tired of the police harassing their communities and violating their rights for forty years. I guess they should tell the police to fucking knock it off and arrest the suspect.

the killer cop Wilson and force that putz McCulloch to recuse himself to avoid a conflict of interest.

See how simple that is?

Speaking of killer cops, has St. Louis ID'ed the killer cop who executed Vonderrit Myers yet? Or are they aiding and abetting his flight from justice like Ferguson PD did with Wilson?

That is the point. Actually, tired of being intimidated. These aren't feelings, they are reality for some.

and bring about the change faster, then. Sometimes I get tired of doing things that need to be done too, so I hurry up and get it behind me.

They live inside their own little bubble. The comments are really telling. They don't understand why people just can't bow down when a cop comes along to harass them. I am guessing they are not seeing all the things I have been seeing on the internet about what cops are doing all over.

But, as for the Post Dispatch, my family was involved with a case that made national news. I kept the papers from that time, but it was sad. It told half truths or untruths, a tiny bit of the real truth. I have been reading all newspapers since then with that in mind.

If this happened in my community, I would be protesting just as long and just as loud. I can't really imagine being afraid of people who are standing up for something.

of problem with leaking what was going on. Posts on twitter.

Then I heard nothing. Is the press just not covering this?

Why do I have the sneaking suspicion they're waiting for cold weather before they do anything? In the (mistaken) belief that folks won't protest once it gets cold...

Just no news really about that jury, unless somehow I'm missing it.

And to those who refuse to have empathy (or sympathy), tired of hearing the ruckus, grow weary of the constant protests.......FU.

teenager who they will never see or talk to again.

The protests need to grow and grow. The whole country needs to march on Ferguson. Not because Ferguson is the ONLY community where the killing of Black teenagers by cops happens, but because Ferguson can be the focal point for the epidemic of killing of young Black men by cops all over this country.
