I took this pic this morning driving back to the Houston area from Hempstead....

(3,691 posts)How surprising to see it outside of (very red) Hempstead. Glad to see it!

(25,111 posts)surprised if Texas doesn't go blue this election cycle because Rick and his crazy minions have gone beyond nuts. How in hell, if you care about your state, keep over 130,000 women from getting essential healthcare?
And all these voter suppression laws, no wonder the American public feel disenfranchised, how Christian like huh.

(3,190 posts)Put into Texas turning blue this election. I think it's getting close with the RW going so far out on that limb of crazy, but I've learned never to underestimate the level of stupid in this part of the country either.
I've lived in two states in my life: Texas and Wyoming, two extremely red states. Texas I can certainly see turning blue at some point, particularly if the Latino vote turns out in force. Wyoming, on the other hand: every rethug candidate running could suddenly grow horns and forked tails and proclaim they are Lucifer here to take every soul that votes repub to the dark side, while dems suddenly start looking like Jesus and they would still vote GOP claiming Lucifer is a "rugged individualist while Jesus is just a hippie wanting to suck off the system."

(570 posts)Maybe Texans are finally getting wise about how the GOP really doesn't give a crap about them.
1) They cut the volunteer firefighting budget by 70% WHILE THE STATE WAS BURNING!!!!
2) They dictate where women get pap smears and lose all Federal Medicaid funding. Now, thousands have NO health care!

(10,495 posts)John Cornhole needs to be booted out. Totally corrupt! Congressmen apologizing to BP for ruining our Gulf (no shrimp or crabs) just b/c Obama signed off on BP's plan. We really need to clean house!

(14,487 posts)It didn't look brand new. You can't tell from the pic, but the sign was slightly warped, like it had been through a heavy thunderstorm at least once.

(14,487 posts)The only conservative sign I saw all weekend was a "Miss me yet" sign on a storefront in Brenham, but it had an obnoxious pic of Bush on it, so it could have gone either way.

(36,974 posts)Back in 2008 I put an Obama sign my front yard.
It was stolen within a couple hours.
So, I got another one and put it in the inside of the house in a front window.
Then I got worried that someone might throw a brick, so I took it out of the window and kept on the fireplace mantel in the den until after the election
I had a Kerry bumper sticker on my old car and was just fine in the Heights. When I moved to the suburbs (Pearland) I took it off. They're just too nutty out here. We are getting closer in West Pearland though - a lot of support for Obama.
