making her statement now. It would be nice if we had some of our health care experts following along.

She's talking about a couple of vaccines starting clinical trials. Also saying that diagnostic tests are being researched.

Safety measures taken. Legislator trying to rush him because he wants to ask questions and time is limited. What a crock. You'd think that they'd be interested in giving as much time to explore this as possible.

Questions starting.

Tho, to be fair, Pres. Obama and others had said, this summer, there was little to no chance of Ebola reaching the USA.

I was skeptical, having read way too much on how viruses can be spread in today's world.

Unfortunately, sick people are arriving from west Africa through connecting flights in western Europe. There is little way to tell who's who on any given flight.

The outbreak is still small at this point because the disease is not that easy to catch. People from Africa know not to hide their illness here because we are still able to treat it here if we catch it early enough.

The people at tremendous risk here are nurses. Better barrier protection needs to be purchased and used to protect them.

Some shrill Republican just proposed quarantining dogs, dogs on the no fly list, no dogs can travel, because no one can assure him that puppies aren't Ebola carriers that transfer the diseases to people. Oh, the terror... the fear... run for your lives, it's a Beagle!
