Contrary to TV station rumor : Sick woman at Dallas train station not on Ebola watchlist

http://news.yahoo.com/woman-being-monitored-ebola-falls-ill-dallas-local-200647513.html
A Dallas bus and train station was closed on Saturday after a report that a woman fell ill at the facility, but the transit authority denied an earlier report that the woman had been on a watchlist for possible exposure to Ebola.

The woman exited a northbound train at the White Rock Station and vomited, leading the Dallas Area Rapid Transit system to close the station as a precaution.

"The person being treated by Dallas Fire Rescue at White Rock Station is NOT on any Ebola watchlist," Morgan Lyons, a DART spokeswoman, wrote in an email. "There are no indications of any biohazards or spills on any vehicle she has used," said Lyons. "We're inspecting the train and the platform and will clean the facility and vehicle as needed consistent with our protocol."

Earlier, a Dallas television station reported the woman had been one of the people in the area monitored for possible exposure to the often-fatal Ebola virus.

1. I saw reports that she lived at Ducan's apartment complex

and that she told them she was on a watch list, which couldn't be confirmed.

Who knows.

5. Every single initial report having to do with ebola has a significant detail wrong.

Every single one. Has anyone else noticed that? The Pentagon Puker was supposedly in Africa, but then all of a sudden she wasn't. This train station puker was on the watch list, and lived at the apartment complex, but now she wasn't, and doesn't. Amber Vinson called the CDC, and then she didn't. A Baylor patient suspected of ebola was transferred to Texas Presbyterian, but TX Presby denies any transfer patient. Why is it so hard to WAIT to release "facts" until they're confirmed? Is the media deliberately seeking out compulsive liars?

8. The media doesn't bother vetting their sources before they run with something anymore

Which is why we see so many of these stories changing, and then changing again before the actual truth comes out.

It's now a race to see who can be first to get the new latest sensational story out there. Accuracy doesn't even figure into initial reporting anymore, all they care about is getting the internet hits and the associated advertising revenue.

It's as if the sickness which infected cable news and their race to one up each other while ignoring the rules of journalism, has spread to all our media outlets and has now become the new standard.
