Pat Robertson: Christians should flee states with marriage equality

http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2014/10/20/televangelist-pat-robertson-christians-in-same-sex-marriage-states-should-flee-to-the-border/

Since that's now 32 of them or something, and more being added every day, they may have to leave the whole country! And only silly homophobes listen to Pat Robertson, so only nice people will be left!

Are you as happy as I am?

Oh, and here's a kitten:

In 32 states - AK, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DE, HI, ID, IA, IL, IN, ME, MD, MA, MN, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OK, OR, PA, RI, UT, VA, VT, WA, WV, WI, and WY, plus Washington, D.C. - same-sex couples have the freedom to marry.

In an additional three states - KS, MT, and SC - federal appellate rulings have set a binding precedent in favor of the freedom to marry, meaning the path is cleared for the freedom to marry there.

In an additional 8 states, judges have issued rulings in favor of the freedom to marry, with many of these rulings now stayed as they proceed to appellate courts: In AR, FL, KY, MI, and TX, judges have struck down marriage bans, and in LA, OH and TN, judges have issued more limited pro-marriage rulings.

In MO, the marriages of same-sex couples legally performed in other states are respected.

With these advances, a record number of Americans live in states that recognize relationships between same-sex couples:

Over 64% of the U.S. population will soon live in a state with the freedom to marry for same-sex couples.
Nearly 59% of the U.S. population lives in a state currently issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples state-wide

Robertson's right wing Christians, all bucking for sainthood by pointing out everybody else's sins, are the most unpleasant people in the country.

I say give them Florida. It's out of the way of most travel, there are a lot of people there who wish they could sell their houses and move, it's easy to sell to ignorant people as paradise on earth, it's on a major storm track, and best of all, it's sinking.

Regent University is a private coeducational interdenominational Christian university located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States. The university was founded by Pat Robertson in 1978 as Christian Broadcasting Network University, and changed its name to Regent University in 1989.[1] A satellite campus located in Alexandria, Virginia, was sold in 2008. Regent offers an extensive distance education program in addition to its traditional on-campus programs.[3] Through its eight academic schools, Regent offers associate's, bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees in over 30 courses of study.[4] Regent University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools[5] and The Association of Theological Schools.[6]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Regent_University

Virginia now recognizes same-sex marriage--
Same-sex marriage in Virginia has been legal since October 6, 2014, following a decision by the Supreme Court of the United States to refuse to hear an appeal of the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals in the case Bostic v. Schaefer. Marriages of same-sex couples subsequently began at 1:00PM on October 6 after the Circuit Court issued its mandate, and since then Virginia has performed legal marriages of same-sex couples and recognized out-of-state marriages of same-sex couples.[1][2]

State recognition had been prohibited by statute in 1975, and further restrictions were added in 1997 and 2004, which made "void and unenforceable" any arrangements between same-sex couples bestowing the "privileges or obligations of marriage". Voters approved a constitutional amendment reinforcing the existing laws in 2006. On January 14, 2014, a U.S. district court judged ruled in Bostic v. Schaefer that Virginia's statutory and constitutional ban on state recognition of same-sex marriages is unconstitutional.

They're coming for you!
