Michael Savage just lost veterans as listeners...

Yeah, yelling at and insulting actual veterans, (as opposed to chickenshit draft dodgers like Michael Weiner,) is really going to appeal to those who have served.

Michael Savage: Veterans With PTSD Are Destroying America

Submitted by Brian Tashman on Tuesday, 10/21/2014 11:25 am

Last week on his talk radio program, Michael Savage got into an argument with a caller over whether California lawmakers should rename a San Francisco tunnel in honor of Robin Williams. The caller, who said he was a veteran suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), defended the move, while Savage objected to the plan, claiming that it would promote suicide.

After a lengthy argument, Savage hung up on the caller and proceeded to attack him. “I am so sick and tired with everyone with their complaints about PTSD, depression. Everyone wants their hand held and a check, a government check. What, are you the only generation that had PTSD? The only generation that’s depressed?”

He then blamed America’s problems on those who “cry like a little baby” over depression: “If the whole nation is told, ‘boo-hoo-hoo, come and get a medication, come and get treatment, talk about mental illness,’ you know what you wind up with? You wind up with Obama in the White House and lawyers in every phase of the government, that’s what you wind up with. It’s a weak, sick nation. A weak, sick, broken nation.”

Savage continued that veterans with PTSD are a “bunch of losers” and recommended that they be more like Michael Savage.

“You need men like me to save the country,” he said. “You need men to stand up and say stop crying like a baby over everything.” He continued that “men are so weak and so narcissistic” that it is “no wonder ISIS can defeat our military.”

Honestly I had not heard anything about that guy since the heyday of the immediate post 9/11 bush years. I'm guessing he doesn't have much of an audience anyway?

He should have stayed with Weiner.

"they (vets) should be more like Savage Weiner"

Has a nice ring to it.

The statement is true, haters, gotta hate. Eventually they turn on everyone, including the people they thought supported them.

Be on radio too, or on Fux News. I would be a millionaire!
Seriously, why pollute the radio waves with such bullshit? Is America becoming that harsh?

Up in New England, there's a radio talk show that that panders to the "sovereign citizen" loons.

Another radio talk show is called The Political Cesspool," it panders to the KKK-types, and worse.

"Coast To Coast AM" with George Noory has a semi-regular guest, the far-right liar Jerome Corsi.

Hate sells.

I know vets who have received settlements on PTSD from the VA which is like winning the lottery, they still hate Obama yet Obama is why they have the settlement.

But republicans dont want to take care of the Vets when they come home, we all KNOW that.

Now, before a republican reports this post, prove to me that you guys have acted overtly in ways with legislation to say otherwise.

Show me where your elected officials have spoken out to commend Obama for what he has done as to PTSD...

Please show me...

served 2 tours in Vietnam. After that he was self employed and worked odd jobs where he could work by himself, and wasn't able to save up anything in the way of retirement. He lives on social security and military pension in his old age, barely scraping by. The windfall of the PTSD money is too little too late IMO.

But it sure as hell is NOT too little too late in a general way, maybe for certain individuals but what Obama has done for vets is fantastic.

He has a show on here in the afternoon on AM radio. Every time I have heard him (usually trying to find something between commercials on another station) he is ranting on and on about how evil Obama and the Democrats are. And about how everyone needs to buy his latest book. Anyone who can stand listening to him for more than 5 minutes is a lost cause.

They're good people. And I would rather have an army of soldiers who had to come to terms with what they were required to do than have an army -- like ISIS -- tat can commit the most unspeakable horrors without so much as batting an eyelash.

The mask has come off. They seem to believe they've solidified their gains to the point that they no longer have to be circumspect of sounding impolitic.

They're wrong of course, but they do believe they're right, and they will run with it.

It's going to be interesting seeing how the discussion will boil down after they run out of wedge issues.

My support goes to our vets who have paid a terrible price to enrich a few evil men and women. The vets signed up to serve their country for honest reasons and then are abused by the corporations and their vile minions.

We progressives need to do more to support our vets at the local level. I know a family that does a deer hunt for disabled vets. It is a great day for them. Does anyone have other ideas for local groups to do something to help our vets?
