The victims need to be in isolation wards, with no access to Faux Nooze.

That's why I don't so much mind that voter turnout is low. Though I wish voter turnout percentage was equal for Democrats and Republicans.

I think stupid people having the right to vote was why Plato didn't like the idea of democracy. "The wisdom of crowds" can turn into mass hysteria, fashionable idiocies, and rule by those most adept at lying to gullible people. Oh, did I just describe our country?

The "smaller government" meme isn't really FOR the average person.... it's for corporations who don't want to be regulated or taxed.

I always ask conservatives I know who complain about government interference in their lives just what it is exactly that they want to do that the government is preventing them from doing.... that's really important. Is the evil government stopping them from building a gazebo on their oceanfront dune? THAT'S oppressive? Do they want to dump their waste in the local reservoir? Do they want to run around naked? Smoke anywhere they want? What? What IS it that they simply cannot do that the government is cracking down on them for? And just how important is this taboo thing?

It usually comes down to not wanting to pay taxes.... because, as every Teabagger knows, street lights and highways were already here when Columbus arrived.

I think, though, that there are some things the people who hate to govern are truly eager to govern. That would be anything to do with women's reproductive choices. They can't seem to keep their slimy little "regulatory" fingers out of those areas.
