GOP Working For A One Party State? Voter Suppression The First Step?

When you add up all the GOP rhetoric and take it too its logical conclusion a one party state is their biggest desire. One clue is the RW blather about eliminating all progressive or liberal ideas from the political landscape.

My guess is that they want to so rig voting that minorities and opposition voters will be permanently sequestered from the process before the GOP is outnumbered. They appear to want to take more desperate measures every day. Controlling the courts is key to their plan.

As the voting population gets younger, smarter, female-er, hispanic-er, and gayer, their chances of being elected to anything beyond mayor of Del Boca Vista get slimmer. They can stem the tide for one or two more election cycles but ultimately, they're going to be overwhelmed by the inevitable change.

It might work this year but they'll never be able to disenfranchise all potential Democratic voters.

If you have the right ideas what's the point to sharing power with people who have wrong ideas? If we could would we really want to share power with people who think woman are second class citizens, who champion discrimination against LGBT folks, who stand up for inequality and racism?

What is the value to having someone like Boehner in power? In any power? And that's not to mention the many people in his party that are far more crazy.

In theory both sides could work together to form some sort of compromise - but you have to be open to the idea that Republicans have some good ideas for that to work. Otherwise it's like saying "We are going to bake a cake - Democrats will bring eggs, flour, chocolate and the Republicans will bring poison and shit." There's no way that cake is going to be worthwhile.
