$4 Billion !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's how much this election is costing. Boring and worthless ads looped endlessly from now until election day.

Who is making this money?? A huge part is made by the propaganda industry. Not the least of which is the television medium. It's like a huge transfer of wealth from the poor and middle-class contributors to the television executives, the newspaper publishers, the radio moguls, and the Internet...

We should embrace the British and Dutch system of elections, whereby the elections only last for a few weeks. That alone would save a lot of money that is going to these propagandists. But that is hardly the answer.

We need campaign reform. No matter what the morons on the Supreme Court say, money is not free speech. If that were the case, the person with all the money would have all the speech.

Perhaps it is time for the citizens of this country to take back the airwaves that belong to them? A 6-week election cycle with the right to respond at no cost to any ads that might be run on the airwaves. Is it coming to that?
