Earlier this week, disgraced stay-at-home-dad Anthony Weiner did yet another humanizing interview, but refused to say whether or not he was still messaging random hotties online. He is at least still following them on Twitter.
As spotted by the eagle-eyed bloggers over at Gawker, Weiner had "favorited" a single tweet as of this morning, from a woman who goes the name Joslyn Stevens, or Sugarfuzz. Twitter, as most users know, makes one's "favorites" public in a separate column easily accessible by anyone.
Sugarfuzz's Twitter bio reads "Filling in for your wife since 2001. Indulge your sexual fantasies by having an affair." Her website expands on that idea:

The self-serving little Likud-nik can't help himself, can he?
But that's not the dumbest thing Carlos Danger has done recently.
That would be this:

(12,778 posts)I wouldn't vote for the guy, but using twitter to look at attractive women isn't exactly a crime. When people post their pictures in public forums, I think they probably intend for them to be seen.
Sending out a mass photo of his own equipment is in very poor taste, but I doubt that lands him in prison either.

I just love how so many think he is sick, twisted, and going to prison for hitting the favorite button on a picture that was obviously intended to be viewed. Why does that piss off so many people and become newsworthy? It's not like he's peeking into windows or hacking computers.

It's not about "character," because, as someone said upthread, we don't really know what the arrangements are at home--some people marry for reasons other than sex or even sexual fidelity.
What bugs me about this guy is not so much character (though he is one), it is his JUDGMENT.
He HAS to know what "middle America" thinks of this kind of conduct (short answer--they may do it themselves but damned if they'll admit to it and they don't like seeing it in public figures). He HAS to know that "oogling" doesn't endear him to a large percentage of the population. He HAS to know that this makes him look like a loser who hangs around the house in dirty underwear surfing the net for salacious content and eating cheetohs.
No one likes a loser. Now he's just coming off as self-destructive. He had a bright future, and he crashed and burned.

(15,480 posts)If HRC ended up the nominee, Weiner would be stalked 24/7 in person and on the net, and he has proven you can confine him to his home computer, but you can't control him. I fail to understand how accomplished women who are in no way financially dependent stay with men who publicly and repeatedly humiliate them. With all of Abedin's travels w/HRC, the norm for both of these women is not to sleep under the same roof with their husbands'. As to Abedin's young child, one can only hope that she found a very loving nanny. That raises the question, would any mother want their nanny to be under the same roof with his guy? Hope she has a deadbolt lock on her bedroom door. What horrible role models HRC and Huma have given their children when it comes to fathers and husbands.

News Flash: Most of America really, really, really, really, really doesn't give two shits.
But the fact that Hillary's camp seems to think that the most pressing question the electorate has for her is whether she loves the Bible "a lot" or "a real, real, real lot", doesn't bode well for a substantive campaign imho.
Warren DeMontague
(80,708 posts)is he leaving politics to go into babysitting, now? Why the fuck would it even come up?
Probably 99.99999% of the population I wouldn't "leave my young daughter alone with", and that almost certainly includes everyone who yammers at me randomly on DU.
That said, is there any indication that Anthony Weiner is inclined to abuse children? That's a pretty egregious thing to accuse someone of simply because they were unfaithful (or sort of unfaithful) to their spouse.
A lot of people aren't faithful in their marriages, it means they're probably not cut out for monogamous marriage, but it doesn't make them unsafe to be around children or whatever-the-fuck.
But, then, you also seem to feel yourself qualified to make dark-sounding noises about MY character simply because I'm not willing to flip out over his errant twitter favorite-clicking.
LawDeeDah
(1,596 posts)I wouldn't.
Divernan
(15,480 posts)The only relevance he has is that he's two degrees away from HRC.
Divernan
(15,480 posts)I don't care what Weiner does stuck in the privacy, some might say voluntary imprisonment - of his own home - particularly while his wife has been traveling all the hell over the place as HRC's primary gatekeeper, and even attending black tie events in NYC with the rich and powerful while he stays home babysitting. He's got to be one lonely and frustrated person. However, the thought that should HRC make it back to the White House, this guy will be that close to all that power, and reinforce the acceptability of such dysfunctional arrangements masquerading as "marriage", all under the watchful eye of the Secret Service, is rather nauseating. So you finally make the big time and are invited to a state dinner at the White House. Women having to shake hands with, let alone sit next to this narcissistic, egomaniacal perv? Will HRC hand out little boxes of sanitary handiwipes with the presidential seal, instead of those little boxes of M&M's (I still have mine from the Bill's first inaugural weekend.)
The egotistical nature of many politicians - constantly craving never-ending approval and endorsements, including sexual "fulfillment" outside their marriages is not unique to one party. The difference seems to be that Republicans tend to involve themselves with more discreet partners, and not, as James Carville so colorfully put it, displaying his disdain for the poor, "Drag a hundred-dollar bill through a trailer park, you never know what you'll find." (Referring to the Bill Clinton-Paula Jones affair.)

Anthony Weiner Continues to Creep on the Sexy Women of Twitter
By Joe Coscarelli
Earlier this week, disgraced stay-at-home-dad Anthony Weiner did yet another humanizing interview, but refused to say whether or not he was still messaging random hotties online. He is at least still following them on Twitter.
As spotted by the eagle-eyed bloggers over at Gawker, Weiner had "favorited" a single tweet as of this morning, from a woman who goes the name Joslyn Stevens, or Sugarfuzz. Twitter, as most users know, makes one's "favorites" public in a separate column easily accessible by anyone. Here's Weiner's "favorite" (before he deleted it):[b Sugarfuzz's full tweet, in which she is her own #WCW, or Woman Crush Wednesday:
Sugarfuzz's Twitter bio reads "Filling in for your wife since 2001. Indulge your sexual fantasies by having an affair." Her website expands on that idea: "Allow me to turn you on. I'm a woman who loves sex and your new best friend. I understand your need for hot sex and intimacy with a woman who cares.
There are millions of men out there like you who are suffering in sexually or emotionally unfulfilling relationships. Why?
You many not want to leave your relationship, but you do need something more. It's time to get real about getting what you want out of y our partner or finding a substitute or replacement. You nave needs, fulfill them.
There are options, explore them. what's stopping you? Indulge your sexual fantasies.
("Get 5 top Reasons Men Cheat along with my weekly NEWSLETTER," she advertises.)
As we all know, Weiner has cratered his political career not once but twice, not with actual, flesh-and-flesh infidelity, but with the appearance of it online. He also knows his Twitter favorites are public. How do we know he knows? Because he did the exact same thing back in June.

At the time, Weiner claimed he "accidentally hit the star thingy" 27 times on various tweets about sexting or that showed scantily clad young women. "There were a bunch of favorites there that I either didn't recognize or mean to favorite," he said in a statement that mirrored his original "I was hacked" defense. "I'm not clear on how they got marked in the first place but I assume I hit the little star thing accidentally as I scrolled through stuff."
The only explanation now is that he likes the attention.
