Hispanic man delivers absentee ballots in Arizona: Conservatives demand he be killed

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2014/10/23/1338688/-Hispanic-man-delivers-absentee-ballots-in-Arizona-Conservatives-demand-he-be-killed

This may be the stupidest conservative panic to come over the transom all year. All. Year.

In the video — which was posted at Glenn Beck’s The Blaze under the headline, “Surveillance video apparently catches guy doing something at the ballot box that left Republican monitor stunned” — Ben Marine can be seen entering the lobby of the polling station in a Citizens for a Better Arizona (CBA) shirt and delivering absentee ballots he had collected. [...]

Which would be truly terrifying—if you were stupid. Because collecting sealed absentee ballots from voters and delivering them is, in Arizona, a perfectly legal GOTV effort. You can have them delivered by a dog or a parrot or Donald Trump's hair if you want, so long as they get to the polling place still sealed. Nevertheless, this video of a Hispanic volunteer delivering absentee ballots has sent conservatives into one of their patented conservative tizzies, because Oh the humanity:

Vote for them.
Well the conservatives have done an excellent job scaring the crap out of other bigots.
They have all the bigots scared of the terrible Hispanic who is going to commit voter fraud, the horrible blacks who want to kill all the policeman, and all the gays who are trying to destroy the values of our beloved country.

Why am I even surprised?

I always knew that they used scare tactics to enlist idiots to vote for them but I figured once they got these idiots believing them, they would turn their heads and laugh at the stupidity that others are willing to accept.
I suppose I've been giving the conservatives way too much credit.
I don't know what is scarier, a smart enemy or a very stupid one?

Excuse me while I go reexamine my entire belief system.

Just our Bill

By Dennis Roddy
Saturday, December 02, 2000

Lito Pena is sure of his memory. Thirty-six years ago he, then a Democratic Party poll watcher, got into a shoving match with a Republican who had spent the opening hours of the 1964 election doing his damnedest to keep people from voting in south Phoenix.

"He was holding up minority voters because he knew they were going to vote Democratic," said Pena.

The guy called himself Bill. He knew the law and applied it with the precision of a swordsman. He sat at the table at the Bethune School, a polling place brimming with black citizens, and quizzed voters ad nauseam about where they were from, how long they'd lived there -- every question in the book. A passage of the Constitution was read and people who spoke broken English were ordered to interpret it to prove they had the language skills to vote.

By the time Pena arrived at Bethune, he said, the line to vote was four abreast and a block long. People were giving up and going home.

SNIP…

Party leaders told him not to get physical, but this was the second straight election in which Republicans had sent out people to intellectually rough up the voters. The project even had a name: Operation Eagle Eye.

Should be punishable by death.

Voter ID laws are small time. Death is so much more permanent.

They have to keep the myth alive that this is a center-right country so when Dems win it doesn't count and it CERTAINLY doesn't mean America has rejected the Republican platform.

I am sure trump's hair floating in, unattached to anything, would have been less frightening to these idiots.

I think we need a new word for the people out there that find fear in this. They're more than idiots, more than racists, more than sheeple. Sheiots?

Meanwhile, there is an equally likely chance that the encounter went like this:
“What’s your problem?”
“I am Cornholio!”
“Stop watching me. You’re annoying me.”
“I need TP. TP for my bunghole!”
“What’s your name?”
“My bunghole, it goes bwaaaa-bwaaa-bwaaaa-bwaaaa!”
“Go f*** yourself.”
