Roy Cho for Congress in the fifth district: Editorial
-snip-
Essentially, the Republican from New Jerseys Fifth District was an ideologue from the rattletrap Far Right long before the Tea Party was ever conceived; he is a retrograde culture warrior who wants to eliminate a womans right to choose and not enforce anti-gay hate crimes; and he is a pint-sized government monomaniac who regards all cuts not merely as cost savings but as shimmering moral triumphs.
Its hard to imagine such a person being elected six times from this state, because his voting record is something youd see from another place or time -- unless the denizens of Bergen, Passaic, Warren and Sussex are deliberately trying to befuddle the pollsters.

With farcical consistency, Garrett is wrong about almost everything, because he sees his office as an ideological burn pit.
His opponent is young and flawed. Roy Cho has spent most of his career in the private sector, he made some bad choices by not voting in a few elections before moving to Hackensack, and choosing the U.S. House of Representatives as your first campaign is a large leap. But he is smart and educated and comes across as a centrist who actually wants to govern.
This is a new district, with more Bergen voters than before, and that gives Chos a punchers chance. We encourage his election.
