See, the Democratic coalition/Big-Umbrella has components - some more life-or-death than others: We have, unions; social justice; civil rights; civil liberties; environment.
So, and here's where I'm stepping into it, some issues are more "recreational" than others: Legalize weed. So that particular one has risen to the top more than others, which I submit might be more "SERIOUS."
So, now that some places, like COLORADO, have gotten THEIRS (legal weed), *why* might that state be in play and might give us Rethugs?!1
ON Edit: Why can't we count on recreationals?!1

(15,189 posts)Legal weed WILL be gone there. The GOP is against any weed. I just don't get why this race is so close. I kind of hope if the GOP does take over, they do get rid of legal weed. Maybe THAT will wake the people the fuck up. All that lost tax revenue to boot. Even the possibility of getting rid of IUD's isn't making this race a landslide.
Good luck Colorado.

(15,189 posts)They will try. While I hope Colorado can keep legal weed, at least if there's a fight, maybe it will open more eyes. I'm in Ca where one day there are a lot of shops, then all of a sudden, they're gone and we have to settle for deliveries.
