10. The article is confusing

What do they mean by "closet conservative"? Are they saying that some people who proclaim themselves to be liberal are judged by other liberals that they aren't? Or are they saying conservatives are being dropped by their liberal friends?

I am discovering some liberals seem to reject you as a liberal simply because you don't look like them, therefore you have to be the enemy. Not liking what I'm seeing.
