Why a GOP Senate could be short-lived

This is why I'm not really concerned about this election.

Senate Democrats have long awaited the 2010 tea party wave to splash back on Republicans during the 2016 election cycle.

That moment is almost here.

After two years of obsessive focus on the teetering reelection prospects of red-state Democrats, the attention is about to shift in a major way to blue-state Republicans. Six of them who rode anti-Obama sentiment to office in 2010 are up in two years, and they’ll face the dual challenge of a more diverse electorate and potentially Hillary Clinton atop the Democratic ticket.

The leftward-tilting map means a GOP-controlled Senate could be short-lived if the party prevails on Tuesday. Even in the best-case scenario for the party, a Republican majority is certain to be slim

Let's still try to get out the vote and prevent a takeover tuesday but if takeover were to happen and it's by 6 seats and King continues to caucus with dems and Orman ultemly does then In 2016 6 states that voted for Obama twice which elected republican senators in 2010 are in danger of flipping

For only two years Veterans and single mothers of 3 working 3 jobs might die.

For only two years any business that in anyway relies on any government institution for their operations will suffer, their employees will suffer, their employees children will suffer, their employees communities will suffer.

For only two years any person in America who relies even a little bit in anyway on the US government for whatever reason, will suffer.

The vast majority of Americans who might rely on our government for any reason are patriotic, honest, hard working Americans.

Only two years for some of us, sure, but for many, it might be two years too many.

I am not picking on you for putting up this article, it is a good read but WHEN not if McConnell tells Obama he MUST destroy ACA or accept a completely shut down government, when this happens, the pain will be deep and long.

Maybe your average teapartier needs severe suffering before they can grow up, dont know.

Obama will need to sharpen his veto pen, and even then we'll have total gridlock.

As I have looked at the potential GOP pickups in 2014, they are:

south Dakota
Arkansas
Louisiana
West Virginia
Montana
Colorado
Iowa

Of those 7 states, The GOP needs to hold all 7 to win 51 seats in the Senate.

Of those 7 states, the first 5 listed I would call "traditionally red". So losing them is disappointing but certainly not a horrific penetration into blue territory that should concern the left. Iowa and Colorado are purple I'd say.

It sets up beautifully for the GOP to take the senate due to the states up for a vote. Yet if even one of them slips through their fingers you are looking at a 50/50/biden tiebreaker in the senate. (though the Kansas Indy senator is a wild card at this point).

So instead of acting like this is a major coup for the GOP to take the Senate... it really should be classified as disappointing but not at all shocking if they do, and it is an unmitigated DISASTER for them if they do not. consider the money they have put into this effort and the never ending media hype for the GOP... if with all that they can only BARELY take the senate by winning traditionally red states... that's not saying much!!!

and in 2016 the left will be at the polls in force and like the article states, it sets up great for the left to retake the senate.

So a GOP senate win in 2014 is going to stink, but the Obama veto still holds them back. it will probably be two more years of gridlock, even worse than what we have now, but I expect a big move to the left in 2016 regardless of that happens this year.

All that being said....... KEEP THE SENATE BLUE!!!!!!!!!!
