Off to work at the polling place today! Wish me luck!

It's a long day to work, and lots of times issues with voters and their registration and/or ID, but it's a meaningful thing to do.
Though I get paid a little, about $150, I do it to be sure that I can help make sure elections are handled fairly. My first election here I thought I was puzzled by some things so I got involved and ended up regularly working the election.

Thank you SharonAnn.

The people, like you, are less than a quarter-mile away and
working right now. I am going to jump on my bike and head for
the trail and a beautiful sunrise. Where I vote is right there, I can touch
it every morning. This morning I will walk in and the workers
will recognise me and everything will be ready, immediately. The
great thing is, the do not know (or care?) how I vote.
It's just "hi" and "have a nice day".

Great!!!

Oh, I will have to show them my drivers license. And the lady
always apologizes for asking for it.

Been there, done that. It is hard work getting things set up. And then you have to take it all down again. Tiresome.
But, it's a good tired.
