The Dems piss me off all the time, but the Republican policies are much more harmful to the environment, civil rights, the economy, and social programs than the Democratic polices.
I was the 108th voter in my precinct.

(68,918 posts)A lot of the (eleventy billion) open judge's seats in our county had only Republican or Green options. So, I voted Green.

* 14 with Democrats running
* 4 votes for the Green party where no Democrat was running
* 19 slots I voted for no one

(112,126 posts)although there were also some Libertarian openings. I had to leave one judicial race unmarked since the only candidate was a Republican.

(10,624 posts)It was a statewide office, and my only choices were a Republican or a Libertarian. Say what you will about the tenets of national socialism, at least it's an ethos.

(19,564 posts)I do what I can to make my dislike of the Republicans known in my RW county.
I spent a wonderful morning driving voters to the polls, too. It was such a nice feeling to know I was helping people have their voices be heard.

(102 posts)...but my very Republican husband and father did, as well. They are beginning to see the damage done, and are realizing today's republican party is not the same one they started with. Kind of a sad commentary though, how far right the Dems have had to go to get those votes, and still be considered the sane party...

(4,876 posts)I spent a lot of time listening to people tell me I am the problem with all my "whining" about "ponies". However in spite of people who seem to believe that it's people like me are going to "cost us the election" 5 ballots left my house all checked with straight "D's".

(1,587 posts)If I understand what I read correctly, we can't vote straight party ticket in NC anymore. Ah, well. It's kind of fun tapping all those spaces with Democrat's names in them.

(20,670 posts)But still, one a-hole yelled back, "how about ______ for district attorney?" (or something, whatever.)
When i looked at the ballot, sure enough, the guy he wanted me to choose was the GOP candidate.
Now, is he really cra cra enough to believe that yelling, "How about so and so" to me would change a woman who announced herself as a dem on the way across the curb???
Honestly? He thought that would work? It's like a dog barking.

(213 posts)I voted for a democrat in every single race except for one state legislator. His name is Bruce Bannister and he oppose Gov. Nikki Haley on a lot of things, they can't stand each other.
