Will we be stuck with Harry Reid as leader?

The only thing I will detest more than watching him let Republicans completely bog down the Senate over the past few years will be him rolling over and playing dead as Republicans pass whatever they want with an even slimmer majority than we had over the next couple of years.

Any chance we elect a different Senate leader for our party?

I just think Reid thought there was no way the Republicans would take it when he made that decision.

And it's nice that Harry Reid can "kick ass" only when it benefits himself politically.

Even more reason to give him the boot.

Too bad he didn't do it to the Republicans that were obstructing anything and everything in the Senate.

Republicans will get more done with 50-53 Senators than Harry Reid did with 55+.

He's ineffectual and he needs to go, now more than ever. Absolutely no reason to keep him around.

we had that many dems who were from red states and why we lost them.

you can't force senators to do things .

So, is Harry Reid going to "give 'em hell" and filibuster anything and everything the Republicans bring up, like they did him?

I wouldn't count on it.

I'm sorry, but there's just no reason to keep the man around. He was a weak leader, even with 55+ Senators. I shudder to think what's going to happen now that he's in the minority. He didn't fight when he was in the majority and there's no reason to think he's gonna fight now that he's in the minority. He'll continue to let the Republicans run roughshod over him. He needs to be replaced.

now senators are elected by the people in their states.

in many of the states association with reid is seen as a negative.

I don't know what you are referring to, but it sounds like even more reason for Harry Reid to go. He's a poor leader and -- as you say -- "association with him is seen as a negative." And we keep in a position of power because...?

There is zero upside to keeping him in his current position. Time for some new faces and fresh ideas. Removing him will be the first of many steps toward picking up the pieces.

Sorry, but he has to fall on his sword. I'll never look at him the same way again, that's for sure.

We need new blood. And please, not Chuck "A camera? Get outta my way!" Schumer or Dick Durbin. I want NEW blood. Senate Minority Leader Warren? Shaheen?
