How much was the Democratic party outspent? I would like to see some numbers on this.

(135,425 posts)Scott Brown. I never saw so many fucking commercials with that florid, hair-sprayed, fake-tanned ass yammering in front of a fireplace in my life! The media buys were relentless, and I only saw the stuff coming out of the Boston markets (which reaches southern NH). Who knows how much they spent up in southern ME, which reaches into northern NH!!!
I'm glad they WASTED all that money, anyway...!

(41 posts)But it wasn't everything. The president's policies were more on trial than anything.
We must get all the money out of politics. Give all candidates a certain amount
from the federal coffers, and zero, I mean zero money allowed from corporations
or individuals. Both parties are bought and paid for by somebody, usually corporations
or unions. one term limits also would eliminate the full time job of not looking out for the
people, but rather looking out for their own sorry asses next election.
I'm sick of the whole system.

The Republicans sent mailings at least once a week since June. Peppered lawns with their signs. Full page ads in local newspapers.
Last night, some old-time party members (republican) opined in private that they were appalled about the money spent on this election. They estimated it cost $2,000 per vote (less than 3,000).
While poll workers opined that the turn-out was "heavy" for a midterm election, in a town with 12,000+ registered voters, being elected by one-quarter is disappointing.
