Voting Machine Problems in Newport News, Va. Beach

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Elections spokeswoman Rose Mansfield says there have been problems with 32 touchscreen voting machines that were preventing voters from casting accurate ballots.

The elections department issued a statement saying the broken machines were taken out of service immediately and there were enough working machines to prevent any voting delays.

Virginia voters are deciding races for U.S. Senate and the state's 11 congressional seats.

I'm not sure what the conspiracy is as there is a video of machine switching the selection to the Democrat and state GOP leaders are calling for a switch to paper ballots. Even innocent calibration issues that led to 1 misvote is too many.

Some of the Virginia Beach locations they cite are Alanton, Arrowhead, Bayside, Birneck, Bonney, Cape Henry, Centerville, Chimney Hill, Colonial, Colony, Courthouse, Culver, Dahlia, Great Neck, Homestead, Hunt, Kingston, Lake Christoper, Larkspur, Linkhorn, London Bridge, Lynnhaven, Manor, North Beach, Ocean Lakes, Pleasant Hall, Rock lack, Rosement Forest, Seatack, Shelton Park, Sherry Park, Sigma, Stratford Chase, Tallwood, Upton and Witchduck.

Officials said there was also a problem at the Lafayette precinct in Norfolk.

State Department of Elections spokesman Cameron Sasnett said 32 machines at 25 Virginia Beach precincts had problems Tuesday. There are 820 machines across the city. He believes however, that the problems were identified before votes were cast.

Appears similar issues were in North Carolina where Democrats are more likely to show up polls rather than early vote according to video at link
