(115,659 posts)But when you consider that there are many different voting methods all over the country, that is very, very unlikely to account for what happened. The basic reason, I think, has to do with the deluge of "dark" money allowed by Citizens United, combined with voter suppression laws that went into effect, combined with the usual midterm voter apathy. That perfect storm made it much easier than the improbable rigging of thousands of voting machines.

(246 posts)What was the method of voting used in the "battleground" states? "Flipping" votes in this handful of states is not an insurmountable task. We know votes were being "flipped" by machines in NC.

But the likely answer is, no, I don't believe they were miscounted.
Were there some instances of voter suppression, and abnormalities? Probably.
But, overall, I don't think they were miscounted.
Were they miscounted in 2008?
