Fox News Ends Ebola Coverage: ‘Our Work Is Done

http://www.newyorker.com/humor/borowitz-report/fox-news-ends-ebola-coverage-work-done?utm_source=tny&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=borowitz&mbid=nl_110514_Borowitz2&CNDID=24410136&spMailingID=7263483&spUserID=MjczNzc1MDExOTAS1&spJobID=560519616&spReportId=NTYwNTE5NjE2S0
NEW YORK (The Borowitz Report)–Fox News announced on Wednesday that it is terminating its coverage of the Ebola virus effective immediately, because, in the words of the host Sean Hannity, “Our work is done.”

Hannity commended the work of the Fox Ebola team, which provided non-stop coverage of the virus during the month of October, but added, “This story is officially over.”

Fox’s decision to bring its Ebola coverage to such an abrupt close raised eyebrows in media circles, but Hannity offered an explanation for the move after his broadcast concluded. “There’s like, what, one case of Ebola in the United States?” the host said. “At most, two or three. The point is, the chances of any of our viewers catching Ebola are next to zero. We’re not in the business of scaring people for no reason. Let’s all move on.”

Hannity added that if there is an Ebola outbreak in the U.S., Fox would offer in-depth coverage of the crisis, probably in the fall of 2016.

Time now to get back to business as usual, serious lies and deceptions.

that's when you know the state of politics and the media and has become a parody of itself. To me this sounded like it was completely within the realm of possibility.

On edit:
So- this could just as easily come from the Onion, and yet it sounds plausible. Such is the state of crazy in this country.
