(15,237 posts)A majority of the American electorate first experience with voting was in school. Did you ever notice the self absorbed assholes who tended to run for office in school who ran on the platform they were the popular kids and would say about anything to get elected? For the most part they did not stand out beyond High School but the ones I come across decades later are still self centered egotists and to a person Republicans. I have actually heard people on occasion say voting in school turned the off from voting.
