But if by "smoke and mirrors" you mean to imply that I'm suggesting that Democrats should fill the airwaves with empty blather and clever sounding but weak arguments, then you've probably misunderstood my point.

Which was essentially that I believe that Democrats generally have been poor communicators, both when expounding their ideas and when defending them. For God's sake, basic decency and morality is on our side. Justice is on our side. But when Democrats get a media platform the words that come out are passionless, uninspired, and immediately forgettable.
