Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsDid any Dem Candidates we Vote For..Object to America's "Endless Wars" announced by Obama?
Not in My State which Dems Lost.
Did any Dem Candidate in Your State even Mention the Lack of New AUMF being used for Iraq Invasion being used for our Bombings in Iraq, Syria, Somalia, Yemen, Pakistan and "other places" under cover?
Did I forget a Country..?
If our Democratic Candidates in Tandem did not Question America's New "Endless Wars" (according to General Martin Dempsey) and verified by Obama's "Election" announcement after Dems Lost...... to send Double Troup Forces into Iraq ..Plus... NATO and US keeping Troops (unknown numbers, yet) in Afghanistan for the "future" then WHY?
WHY is "Endless War" not an Election Issue?
Did ANY DEM CANDIDATE SPEAK OUT ABOUT ........ENDLESS WAR? Questioning?
Udall was all for it to get votes. He lost.

(4,876 posts)He put all his eggs in the abortion/war on women basket because his opponent was a huge pro lifer...
Udall lost because Gardner had the money. I believe the final numbers put Gardners campaign expenditures at 40% above Udall. Also, I think Udall, had he run on the outdoorsman anti-war, pro women, pro middle class, candidate he actually was he might have won..
Democrats need to stop listening to the party and it's handlers and fucking run on what they actually believe and think. DU is under the impression that Al Gore lost because of Ralph Nader.(Gore didn't lose but that is another conversation). I spoke to a man who put that myth to rest years ago.. His name was Al Gore. I was doing audio at a gig he was speaking at and while wiring him up with his mic we talked. This was years after the election and Gore had regained the respect he deserved. So I flat out asked him why he thought he lost. And he told me "because I wasn't myself, I let everyone else decide what was right for me..."

(84,711 posts)or maybe it was just those pesky Dem Activists who worked against Bush who were enthralled when Obama promised to "End those Wars."
But, Wars were taken "Off the Table" once the Election of 2008 Occurred. He did foot drag for awhile...and maybe that was sincere...but, then....look where we are now.

(7,580 posts)This has been one of the most disappointing things for me. The Democratic Party has moved to the right of where I am. In terms of defense and wall street there is little difference between the two. We have truly become a nation of "War Mongers" - this will not end well.

(84,711 posts)Bumper Stickers & American Flag Stickies plus the Flags Flying all over America. Obama Promised to End Wars...yet.....here we are...and there's SILENCE.
I didn't see any Press Releases of any Candidate calling Obama to Task for going back to war without new AUMF....and that he didn't Call Congress Back to Vote on One.
American Passives seem fine with their Sons, Daughters and Grandchildren going off to WAR over and Over for "Endless" Time Frame?
What the Hell has Happened to Us?

(32,139 posts)We are still waking up to the fact that there has been a corporate coup of our representative democracy.
And it doesn't help that that coup included implementation of probably the most well-funded propaganda machine in the history of the world, aimed at us.

(268,693 posts)but the contradictions with the pretense of democratic values and American imperialist bullying overseas are destroying America.
ReTHUGs now use the same tactics that are used to overthrow any overseas government that does not bow to their wishes at home.
Fascism for all or expect destabilization and/or bombs, drones, whatever the fuck is the preferred form of dominating the planet.
