Yay: Westboro Baptist Church loses Kansas court challenge to marriage equality

Westboro Baptist Church had filed a challenge in Kansas state court, to claim that marriage equality would infringe on the rights of the church. They lost, and they lost big.

District Judge Daniel Crabtree – who already ruled earlier this week that the states’s ban on equal marriage violates the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution – delivered a seven-page rebuke of the group’s arguments.

He said in part: “The Court has considered each of these arguments, and concludes that they fail to make the compelling showing required."

Because Brownback has been re-elected, Kansas is going to be even worse off than what it already is (thanks to his policies) so in less than a year, the WBC will be able to point to something and say, "Ah, see? We told you so!"
