Isn't that the bee's knees? Claims he doesn't have enough time. Rachel Maddow just reported this. What purpose does this serve? This just makes me furious.

(6,960 posts)... I predict further decline and demoralization for Senate Democrats, Pres. Obama and the Democratic Party.
Frankly, I think it is time for Nancy Pelosi to give someone else an opportunity to lead the House Democrats, too.
And Hillary Clinton could help the Democrats and the progressive movement in this country and make room for a new generation of ideas (I don't refer to age, but to bold progressive leadership).
It is kind of startling to realize that after six years of one of the nation's youngest Presidents, the Democratic Party looks tired and worn-out right now.

(199 posts)...we wait hopefully for some clever strategy hidden up Reid's sleeve - and there is NONE!!! Time after time, there is only cowardice and handing power to the Repubs. Is there any easier thing in the universe than to hold hearings for Lynch now, unimpeded, and instead they're walking away from the chance?????WTF!!!!!!!

They want the Repubs to oppose her? For what purpose? To make a statement?
Or perhaps Reid wants someone else? It is reported that she is rather "conservative". But, regardless, the President should pick who he wants for Attorney General. We are told that she was hand-picked by Eric Holder.

(7,906 posts)Fox, where Bill O'Reilly and Megyn Kelly were calling her a hero. They also said they expected her to be a bi-partisan shoo-in. For whatever that's worth.
And yes, she is Eric Holder's hand-picked choice.

(11,441 posts)its glory days. I do get the impression there's no love lost between the current White House and Dems in Congress. Which is a HUGE problem.

(11,441 posts)Truly. They wasted no time in slashing and burning when they seized power, and would do everything they could if they knew they were losing power.

(17,370 posts)that will get confirmed next year anyway, when there are other judicial and executive nominees on the docket that may never get a vote in the new Senate?
Good call by Reid.

(22,000 posts)If Holder is willing to stay on until the beginning of the year and she has bipartisan support, Reid may be better off trying to get what he can passed before the end of the session before the Senate if overrun by the roaches.
