by robot? For crying out loud, car washes could be repurposed to do this...

(18,402 posts)The windows in my condo building get washed twice a year, and the management company always sends an email to remind people to close their blinds or curtains for privacy. Oops, sometimes I forget and step out of the shower in a towel just as the guy comes into view, hanging from a rope ... causing me to scurry back to shelter.
So you mean, like a Roomba for windows? Probably because they're not very good (everyone I know who has had one eventually gave up on it). But maybe they'll develop something. And then what will the daredevil peeping toms do for jobs?

(46,192 posts)might be pretty involved to design a vertical Roomba type window washing robot that can clean any type of exterior window as well as a window washer can.
besides, it's a very safe job in this country.
if you wanted to improve worker safety, you'd make guns less available and thus make the jobs of convenience store workers less dangerous.
window washer safety would be a far lower priority because it's pretty safe anyway.
