Morans shoot out windows at a Unitarian church...

They even left a note behind, notice the spelling of "Muslim" and "Socialist."

Arkansas Church Says It Welcomes All, Gets Window Shot Out

The Unitarian Universality church in my hometown of Mountain Home, Arkansas recently published a letter in the local paper letting the community know that they welcome everyone at their church regardless of race, religion, or sexual orientation.
The reaction? The church had its windows shot out one night and were left this note:

Like when my sketchy neighbor if I want him to be honest with me, he'll ask if I want some "crystal", as in crystal clear. I always say no, because I know I listen to loud music sometimes.

a black church on thanksgiving where the members have agreed to welcome them with love. And food.

An asskicking would be so tempting, but confusing the shit out of them, and the slim chance of getting them to think a little, is so much more gratifying.

Then, next week we go to the gay church.

And the Latino one...

And it goes on.

Well, OK, that's not really the idea either.

But, there are times when you want to overwhelm the enemy with kindness and other times you want to kick their sorry asses. The point is that we have options they don't have.

Wed Nov 12, 2014, 05:16 PM

Given the meaning of the word:

Scholia (singular scholium or scholion, from Greek σχόλιον "comment, interpretation&quot are grammatical, critical, or explanatory comments, either original or extracted from pre-existing commentaries, which are inserted on the margin of the manuscript of an ancient author, as glosses. One who writes scholia is a scholiast.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scholia

Or maybe they meant this alternate use: "At Balliol College, Oxford, "Scholiasts" is the classics-oriented drinking society."

Police departments in certain areas of the country were full of Klansmen back in the 1950s and 1960s. Who's to say they still aren't? Though they usually don't call themselves the KKK anymore.

I can't just keep shaking my head at the totally ignorant people that won the mid terms for the Reich wing in such large numbers. They are emboldened like I haven't seen in decades, they are nothing but the brown shirts that started creating such hate and brutality right after hitler took power in 1933. Same thing, except this time.................

They hate any church that does not hate the same people they hate.

I have fundie family members who, although tone down their language, spew such vitriol whenever they see this bumper sticker.

The idea that maybe we should all get along and the idea that their religion is the same in order of importance and credibility as all these others, leaves them frothing at the mouth.

There are people like this out there, but the note seems to be a bit too cliched. Other than the Muslin sign that became an internet meme, most right-wingers can spell that and socialist correctly.

I know that a Unitarian church has been attacked before, however there's just something about this that doesn't pass the smell test based on the information given.
