Once again on EarlG's cartoon Cruz claims that temperatures are going down.
Everything I have seen over the past decade says up, up, up.
Obviously i have no idea what their sources are, or do they just say these things with no justification?

(13,417 posts)Some industries stand to lose billions if the government were to address climate change in any manner proportionate to the gravity of the situation. So they funnel funds and misinformation to their Repub stooges in Congress who propagate it with glee while blocking any actions to curtail anything that is contributing to climate change.
Cruz knows as much about climate change as he does net neutrality.

(24,692 posts)I am always reminded of Paul Krugman's opinion of liberal vs conservative thought processes. My guess is that Cruz is using half-truths, anecdotes, fear and emotion to motivate the base rather than real science.

(13,101 posts)of scientist that are paid to lie, from end of the world fanatics, and what ever nonsense they extract from their assess.
97% of scientists are in agreement about climate change.
Republicans are liars, shysters, and cons.
They hide behind religion and fake patriotism.
They are anti facts, science, biology, anthropology, etc.
They still 'believe' in trickle down economics after 4 decades of evidence to the contrary.
They are the greatest threat this country faces.

(20,836 posts)There are plenty of people out there that will tell you what you want to hear for the right price. They used to drag out Dr. Michael Crichton every few years to "counter" act actual people in the climate field. From tobacco causing cancer to the fear of Obama care (see Doctor Ben Carson) there's always that 1 out of 5 dentist that says "screw it don't brush your teeth."
Believe science not scientists out for a buck. Ted Cruz is the Fox news generation. People that intentionally inflict themselves with disinformation because it is affirmation they seek and not the news. They will now be leading Congress! It should scare you. Both parties are not the same.

(35,015 posts)It just pours out, and they don't even flinch when they do it. Facts? BAH!! The media doesn't fact check anymore or challenge the lies, so no one is stopping them.
Their slogan should be "the end justifies the means", the means includes lying, stealing and cheating but it doesn't matter as long as they get what they want. Total Domination.

The never cite their sources bevause the audiences to which they are playing don't give a fuck about research or ethics.
