What particular examples of media lying, or spreading false info stick out to you?

After a few decades of deceptions, like incubator babies, Dark Alliance swatting the truth out of the skies by our leading organs,
and quite a few similar other things I can think of (Operation Tailwind, TANG documents, etc)
cause me to wonder if there is any limit to how much mendacious media dishonesty Americans will swallow or accept?
got any favorite examples of national or local news organizations telling untruths?
or is that just TOO BIG of a category?

That's kind of a biggie, and it's been downhill since then.

That the Occupy movement is/was comprised of all young good-for-nothings is another big lie.

That NO ONE could have anticipated the housing meltdown. NO ONE!

That tax cuts spur job creation.

That unions destroyed the American auto industry, and while we're at it, Detroit.

Just a few that come to mind.

I can't even read the NY Times any more without thinking about her.

Acorn stories and the lack of follow up. Really sad that an effective organization was lost due to lies and propaganda.
