A legislative question for the knowledgeable.

I saw a discussion at another site that posed the question "what was the last piece legislation written by Republicans the helped the poor and needy without large tax cuts for the rich and corporations?

The kicker was the guy turned around asked the same thing of the Democrats and I just blanked, and I'm still coming up with snake eye's.

Does anyone here know of any?

Thanks in advance.

gop blocks everything and wont let bills thru without cuts- so getting rid of tax cuts ask the same question. "what was the last piece legislation written by Republicans the helped the poor and needy "

cons wont let a bill that helps the poor and needy with out tax cuts to the bloated wealthy

Republicans think the only way to help the poor is to help the rich instead.

They've blocked jobs bills, foodstamps, education, minimum wage, etc.

I had those in mind but I think it was specific legislation instead of generalizations. That's why I was stumped.
