Mike Nichols, who directed "The Graduate" and was married to Diane Sawyer, has died. He was 83.

He had a great career and has a very interesting background.

5. I got the impression he was not in good health and hadn't been for a while...

a couple of years ago when I was visitng my daughter on Martha's Vineyard I had a minor health emergency and she took me to the ER. My doc told me about Sawyer bringing Nichols into the ER for heart problems and he was such a sick guy. I'm not really surprised that he died...from what I gleaned from the ER doc...

Not supposed to divulge private health information to others. That's frightening.

8. You'd be surprised what some docs will share

especially when they know you and particularly if you're in the health
care field.

My OB--back in the day some 30 years ago--also had Zsa Zsa Gabor for a patient,
and although he never revealed any medical info, he told me about his
difficulties with collecting his bill. She thought she was such a hot shot celebrity that she was entitled to free care!

10. She didn't go into details about his illness. We were talking about celebrities who had been at the

hospital on the Vineyard where a lot of celebrities vacation (esp. liberals). But perhaps she shouldn't have revealed that Sawyer and Nichols were there at all...

9. Your doc should lose his/her's license

They should not have told you about anyone's condition. Yikes.
