U.K.: Lord Fowler calls for decriminalization of homosexuality around the world

http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2014/11/20/lord-fowler-calls-for-decriminalisation-of-homosexuality-around-globe-to-fight-aids/

Lord Fowler of the U.K.'s House of Lords has called for all countries which still have criminal penalties against homosexuality to drop these laws, in part to help encourage people who have HIV to seek treatment.

(If he lived in the U.S., the religious right would call for his expulsion as a threat to the republic.)

Of course, in the US 'calls for expulsion' from the Congress has occurred 20 times in history, 17 expulsions involved supporters of the Confederacy at the start of the Civil War. The only Senator expelled for other reasons was expelled for Treason in 1797.
Modern times, Mike Myers of PA for bribery in Abscam, Trafficant in 2002 for financial improprieties and tax evasions.

Of course in Russia and other countries, Fowler could be arrested just for saying this bit of 'gay propaganda'.
