Ohio 'heartbeat' bill re-emerges for panel vote
By JULIE CARR SMYTH

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Stringent abortion restrictions resurfaced for a committee vote in the Ohio House on Thursday, leading to raised voices and pounding gavels at a hastily-called hearing.

The so-called heartbeat bill was a late addition to the House Health Committee's calendar and was scheduled for a vote before lunch. The bill would restrict most abortions at the first detectable fetal heartbeat, which can be as early as six weeks into pregnancy.

Abortion rights advocates attacked the measure as unnecessary, dangerous and misogynist, and the American Civil Liberties Union warned it would draw an immediate, costly legal challenge if passed.

Some lawmakers called abortion murder and defended their right as public servants to protect human life....

what ever it wants for two years. Hopefully more Dems will vote in 2016 and change things. We had our chance and failed this last time.

That is why we have to go through this again, and again, and again: until a sufficient number of the majority who think this is bullshit show up at the polls.

Our side isn't constantly trying to expand abortion rights, just lamely defending it when the other side attacks.

Ohio is going to look like a third world cesspool in four more years. The looting by these crooks is massive and unprecedented. The attacks on teachers and children have already started. See these stories at Plunderbund:

Bad Bills Rise In ‘Lame Duck’ Session: Telecom, Teacher Pay Bills Move Forward http://www.plunderbund.com/2014/11/18/bad-bills-rise-in-lame-duck-session-telecom-teacher-pay-bills-move-forward/

This is the worst proposal at the Ohio State Board of Education. These nitwits are proposing eliminating the state requirements for counselors, speech pathologists, librarians, music, art and PE teachers. It is known as the 5 of 8 rule. These specialists are vital for elementary school children. Currently, schools must choose to have at least five of these specialists on staff. Not anymore.

The Ohio Board of Education president is Debe Terhar:

Hitler controversy

In January 2013, shortly after President Obama addressed the nation about gun control in the wake of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, Terhar posted a graphic on her Facebook page with the caption "Never forget what this tyrant said: 'To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens.' — Adolf Hitler." Terhar denied that she was comparing Obama to Hitler, but later stated that we "need to step back and think about it and look at history" to see that tyrants have disarmed their citizens.[4]
Book banning controversy

On September 10, 2013, Terhar made a statement at a State Board of Education meeting regarding the Toni Morrison novel The Bluest Eye, calling it "pornography". The book is on a suggested reading list for the Common Core State Standards Initiative. “I don’t want my grandchildren reading it and I don’t want anybody else’s grandchildren reading it,” she said. "It should not be used in any school for any Ohio K-12 child. If you want to use it in college somewhere, that’s fine."[5] Terhar later stated that she supports Common Core in Ohio, and that she was not suggesting that the state ban the book.[6] Many local and national media reported it as a book banning case, however.

I have no doubt the pension funds for public employees will be raided after Kasich gets laughed off the national stage when he has a public meltdown in front of cameras. He has been very well protected in Ohio, but the national media will have fun with him.

The attacks on women's reproductive rights is frightening. I will be advising my daughter to move out of state asap. After the first of the year, we will see increasing attempts to ban birth control. I predict we will see several women charged with murder for miscarriages and using the morning after pill here in Ohio very soon. Ohio is going to become a very dangerous place to be a women.

Sorry for the extra long rant, but we are in real trouble in Ohio.
